03 Jul Roving Magic at CSR Event, Cheshire Home
A week ago, I was engaged by a client to perform at a CSR event for the seriously disabled. It was quite an experience & challenge for me as I had to keep my performance short and my communication had to be simple and clear for some of them to understand. The tricks that I had to perform had to be visual yet not too complicated for them to understand as some of the beneficiaries, other than being physically disabled, are also intellectually disabled.
I had to improvise on the spot while performing depending on their condition. Since most of them were accompanied by the volunteers from my client’s company, I would ask the volunteers to be the Magician’s Assistant and thus putting on a mini show for them instead of asking them to participate directly.
This was definitely one of the shows that I performed at that gave me a great satisfaction as compared to other shows that I performed before. Overall, it was a great learning experience for me and it was nice see that most of them really enjoy watching my magic performance.
